RILEYS REVIEW UNDAUNTED...BY CHARITY PARKERSON

"This isn't a one-time thing. I don't share. Do you understand me?"

"Tell me you belong to me," he demanded. "I need to know you're mine." The desperation in his gaze left her breathless - Knox Collier

I should start by saying I think when a guy says "tell me you belong to me", it's about the hottest thing they can ever say. And when Knox Collier growls those words to Mandy Everett I about lost it right then and there. If you like alpha males and MMA fighters Undaunted is a perfect read for you.

I will tell you, I was completely surprised how my feelings changed while reading this book. I read the blurb and thought I would be all about Knox's youngest brother Rhys. Little did I know that by the end of Undaunted, I was completely in love with Knox. He is an absolute contender for one of my Best Book Boyfriends of 2014.

His physical description made my heart skip a beat. Shaggy dark hair, green eyes, topped off by a phenomenal body. Here's one more thing, Knox has a very dark side. Actually, it's not just a dark side, it's him totally. In the beginning of the book he's almost scary dark. And that just made him even hotter to me. He's got that whole mysterious thing going on for him and that is a major turn on. Knox has been in love with Mandy for as long as she's been around. The thing is there's always been an unspoken understanding in their fighting community that Mandy belonged to Rhys.

Of course Rhys is hot as hell. He's also a fighter like his big brother and like his father before him. As much as Rhys declares his love for Mandy, he never proves it. Rhys is the ultimate man whore. He loves women and women love him. The thing about Rhys is he doesn't hide it. He brings dates to the restaurant Mandy works at and sits in her section. Mandy puts up with his nonsense for a really long time. Then one day Knox and Rhys' middle brother Dane, goes on a crazy drug binge and wrecks Mandy's house. This makes Mandy open her eyes and opens the door for Knox.

The Collier brothers have led a very screwed up life. Their mother left them when they were very young and their father who was also a big time fighter committed suicide. Each of the boys are broken in their own way. They all have different ways of dealing with their pain. Knox seems to be the darkest, almost seeming like he doesn't care whether he lives or dies.

Mandy is the light in the Collier brother's darkness. While she's broken herself, she's a rock for these boys.

Everyone including Knox think he's bad for Mandy. But, Mandy sees something in Knox that no one else sees. Knox has always been around. He doesn't think Mandy noticed, but she did. He always manages to end up around Mandy and after the disaster of Dane, Knox and Mandy become closer. Seriously, when Knox told Mandy it's always been her, I swooned. When their relationship becomes physical it's like bam!! Knox is blazing hot in bed and in the closet at the gym he works out at. I promise, you'll go back to those scenes over again (hell I know I did).

So what happens when Rhys finds out about Knox and Mandy? Now you know I'm not going to tell you. But what I will tell you is you absolutely have to read Undaunted for yourself. Just leave Knox alone.....he's mine. I have to give Undaunted a five lip smack review because it was just that good.

About The Author
Deciding to write books was something I had contemplated for a while. A co-worker of mine had gotten me started me on the 50 Shades Trilogy. I had quickly became absorbed! Reading contemporary romance had become a part of me. Little did I know that my daughter was a product of the “50 Shades Baby Boom”! I remember going to my doctor’s appointment to find out that we were off to labor and delivery- and I didn’t download any new books to my kindle! Talk about bummed out! However, I made up for that when I was home for my maternity leave. I believe we read 40+ books while I was home.
I am a full time new mom, and wife. Yes, I do work full time, I am currently doing multiple things, bouncing back after baby, weight watchers, exercising, training for a 5k, reading and writing. So far, I have really enjoyed writing as a hobby.
My work book club, “HE” had consumed us (and by us, I mean 2). We were critics of the stories and characters. I then thought to myself, “hmm, I bet I could write stories just like this, and have them turn out like I’d want them to.” Well, joking turned into thinking. Thinking turned into brainstorming. Brainstorming lead to opening a word document and letting my mind explore.
Growing up I had written short stories with friends, and as extra credit for school. This is probably where it all started… I had turned in one of my short stories without re-reading, or editing it completely. I had my paper returned to me saying the “content was inappropriate.” Apparently contemporary romance was frowned upon in English class! Oops! So maybe I was destined to become a writer.
I thought to myself that I want to live in this world and make a difference and have a part of me in history after I leave. This is me staying forever young.
Here I will post my journey, it’s a learning experience for me, so please bear with me.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, recommendations- I welcome them all.
Enjoy :)

Excerpt:
Alusia smiles wanly. “What happened in Kooram?” she asks. “There was a party. We were dancing. Seamus and I were celebrating our engagement...” I pause, ashamed. He sits beside me, unaware of my role in this, oblivious to my own deception. “It was my fault.” Seamus takes my hand. “Alondra, stop. You know this has nothing to do with you.” “It has everything to do with her,” Alusia interrupts. “And her mother.” “Look, although Alondra seems thankful for whatever you want to share with her, I don't care what these secrets are. This is not her fault and she does not need you blaming her.” Seamus's anger is new to me. I have been so amazed by his calm, his kindness; he is more like a Demorian now than I have ever seen him, and I have watched him cut a man's throat. Alusia sighs. “I do not mean to assign blame. But we can no longer pretend that this was a rogue attack, that these events have not culminated in bringing you here, that fate has not worked its magic to get this book into her hands.” She runs her fingers along the book on her lap. “It's fine,” I say. “But it was not fate. Maybe I did not make the only bad choices, but choices got us here. And I, for one, am tired of hearing about fate.” “The attack,” Seamus continues. “It was sudden. A siren spell warned us before the mages were slaughtered. I don't know how they breached the Demorian guard, but without the dying spell of an elder mage, no one would be sitting here right now with you.” “So you ran?” Alusia asks. “I don't run,” I argue. “In fact, I am only here because someone kidnapped me in my sleep.” “It was her father's wish,” Seamus mumbles. “The forces came quickly. We spread the word to meet in the caves and Kooram split into two groups: those who were running for the caves, and those who would stay behind. My parents were with those running, but I stayed. Ereditus, our commander, rallied the troops. Seamus was already by my side. My friend, Lormander...” I stop and think of that moment. Sanara's face, broken by the choice he was making, is etched into my memory. I watched her fingers slowly fall from his hand and the agony in her glance as she turned back to see him one last time tore me asunder. And now, somewhere, are they reunited? Did she lead everyone to Tallagut? Did he stay behind in the caves to face his death, remembering her kiss as the blade entered his heart? I choke on the images and tears rest on the precipice of my eyelids. “We stayed,” I repeat. “There were so many of them. It was chaos. Smoke billowed from the streets, from our homes, from everything that was my childhood. I saw young boys, thinking they were brave, split in twain as the attackers stepped over the corpses, trailing death. What I remember most was the sound. The crash of swords, the screams of the fallen, the crackle of burning. The details are hazy. We left Kooram in ruins when we saw that we were outclassed. I walked through fields of carnage to the caves, only to wake on the other side, in a mirror world, yet untouched.” “The king, he asked that we come here. He said you had the answers, the only weapon we could use against him,” Seamus adds. My shattered body sits beside him, but my mind and my soul are still with the dead. “I am an old woman, and a forgotten mage,” Alusia says. “I am also the keeper of secrets and memories. I do not forge steel. My only weapon is knowledge. But that I have in abundance, and I believe it is time Alondra take her share.” She rises from the dusty chair and approaches. I sense my hands as they lift to take the book she offers; the leather cover is hardened, but smooth to touch. I run my hand along the spine and trace the embossed seal. “Please take this to your room. You will need time, and you will need privacy. When you are done, I will be waiting for your questions.”

About the Author:
Sarah Daltry writes about the regular people who populate our lives. She's written works in various genres - romance, erotica, fantasy, horror. Genre isn't as important as telling a story about people and how their lives unfold. Sarah tends to focus on YA/NA characters but she's been known to shake it up. Most of her stories are about relationships - romantic, familial, friendly - because love and empathy are the foundation of life. It doesn't matter if the story is set in contemporary NY, historical Britain, or a fantasy world in the future - human beings are most interesting in the ways they interact with others. This is the principle behind all of Sarah's stories. Sarah has spent most of her life in school, from her BA and MA in English and writing to teaching both at the high school and college level. She also loves studying art history and really anything because learning is fun. When Sarah isn't writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking the internet for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window. She has written several books, most notably Bitter Fruits, an urban fantasy in the Eden’s Fall series, Backward Compatible: A Geek Love Story, and the six book New Adult Flowering series, including Forget Me Not, Lily of the Valley, Blue Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Orange Blossom, and Ambrosia.

RELEASE BLITZ!!! THE REALITY OF YOU...BY JEAN HAUS

I am totally in love with this book!! The cover, the trailer.....so very good!!!

SYNOPSIS
Naomi Porter was once witty, fun, and outgoing, but she has scratched outgoing off the list, along with men. She has a mediocre tech job in fabulous New York, a large smut book collection, and awesome friends, both tangible and in an online gaming community. She just doesn’t date. A future filled with cats and housedresses beats having her heart broken again.

But Naomi still likes men, even kind of stalks—mostly fantasizes about—a gorgeous one at work during lunch.

Her best friend, Kara, is determined that Naomi will be outgoing again. When Kara finds out who, as in a notorious playboy, Naomi is stalking at lunch, she plans to break Naomi of her lunchtime habit and bring her back into the real world. It’s just going to take a bit of deception.

Between all the deceiving, fangirling, and bumbling, Naomi might not be able to resist the temptation of turning her seven-month fantasy into reality. And really, so what if he’s a playboy or a demanding jerk? Her fantasies don’t include love or even like, just a bed or a couch or the back seat of a limo…

Reality might be just what she needs.

*A sexy romantic comedy intended for audiences 18+

-Whoa. Wow. Whoa. Between his gaze and his words, I imagined jumping on his lap and experiencing some of that.

- What was better than fried tortillas? Nothing. Well, except Doritos. But they were fried tortillas with cheese-flavored dusting.

-Could sharks jump out of the water? The ocean lay more than a hundred feet away. I wanted a shark to swallow me whole and drag me to the deep, salty depths of the sea after that ramble.

- But he is also hot, delicious, and the star of my day and night dreams.

-I didn’t cook. I constructed dips.

-I wanted to grab a toothpick and stuff it up my roommate’s nose. Two toothpicks to be precise, one for each nostril.

- Seriously, I never imagined being a tux girl, but holy hot hell, I could dry hump his suit. Preferably with him in it, but…

-You can never, ever, go wrong with bacon.

- I was going to faint. Or let out a whoop. Or tackle him. And it wasn’t just because he was removing his pants.

EXCERPT
“Keep an open mind. First impressions aren’t always correct,” she said from behind me as we strode down the hall.
“I’m not expecting Prince Charming but those three are wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am all the way. Is a little interest, a little romance, a first date with a toe-curling kiss too much to ask for?” I inquired over my shoulder.
“Maybe you need a wham-bam to get back into business. Like get it over, then move on to the romance and the toe-curling kisses.”
“Harrumph,” escaped me before we came out of the hallway and into the main bar. Three steps into the room, I stopped dead in my tracks. I became a deer in headlights when I noticed a person sitting sideways at the bar. Dark brown hair. Square jaw. Dark winged brows. Sensual lips with a rocks glass pressed to them. I gaped as he tipped the glass higher and amber liquid touched his lips.
Kara ran into my shoulder. “What the hell?” she asked, rubbing her jaw and stepping next to me. “Don’t pull this again. It’s only one more drink.”
“It’s him,” I somehow said, though still in shock. “My lunch guy.”
“Him? What are you talking—” She followed my frozen gawk. “Holy shit, Naomi! He’s the guy you watch at lunch? That’s not a bike—that’s a luxury car! Like an Aston Martin!” Kara had a thing for luxury cars. And shoes. And clothes. And purses.
I nodded as the woman next to him gave him a sultry stare. Jealousy flared within in me. Hopefully the daydream kind, but yeah, he was an Aston Martin compared to the three ten speeds waiting in the other room.
Kara smacked her forehead. “I should have known. Why didn’t my stupid ass put two and two together when you described him? You know who he is, right?”
Locked on him, my eyes turned huge. “What? No.”
“He’s—”

“Aggggg, not listening to Kara.” I covered my ears. “Don’t tell me.” Sure, I stalked him at lunch, but I didn’t want the possibility of becoming a full-time stalker. More than that, I didn’t want my lunchtime lustful fantasies ruined by reality. I was more than aware of it being a fantasy. I liked it as a fantasy.

RILEY'S REVIEW DUTY BOUND...BY SAMANTHA CHASE AND NOELLE ADAMS

"I wanted to be there for you....because of you. I may have tried at first to tell myself I was doing it for Gavin, that you were just a duty to me. But the truth is, Harper, I wanted to be there for you. I wanted to take care of you." Levi

Duty Bound is the first book in a series by Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams, and I'll just tell you now they made a damn hot book boyfriend in Levi.

When we first meet Levi he's attending the funeral of his best friend from childhood Gavin Murphy. Levi and Gavin were best friends who not only grew up together, but joined the marines together. While in the marines, Levi and Gavin met Sebastian, Declan and Cole (who will each be getting their own stories). Unfortunately these five friends were on a mission that went horribly wrong and Gavin became a casualty. It seems all of the boys were broken in some way. So now they're home, trying hard to adjust to civilian life. Levi seems to be the most torn up over the loss of Gavin. He seems to blame himself for what happened. During the funeral, Levi notices Gavin's little sister Harper. Harper is all grown up now and even in his grief and guilt, Levi finds himself attracted to Harper.

Harper Murphy is a spitfire. She's a tiny pixie like woman who always needs to prove she can handle things on her own. She followed Levi and Gavin around as a child trying to keep up with the two bigger boys. Harper always seems to be involved in a different cause. She's always trying to make people see things her way. She loved her brother Gavin fiercely. So when Levi approaches Harper to share his condolences, Harper grits her teeth and mutters, "Why couldn't it be you?"

Harper has taken Gavin's death extremely hard and feels like the government is hiding something from the family. She writes, stories about what she thinks is a conspiracy, goes on local TV to talk about it, even plans to go to Washington DC to investigate. Only, she doesn't get a chance. Harper seems to have ruffled someone's feathers and dangerous things begin to happen to her.

It's during this time, Levi decides to become Harper's protector. At first he feels like it's his duty to protect Harper because Gavin isn't there to do it. But it becomes so much more and Levi falls in love with Harper.

Levi battles his own demons. He blames himself for Gavin dying. He what ifs himself like crazy. Levi never expected not to be in the marines and he just doesn't know what to do with himself. He works for his dad's construction company, but that's just not enough.

I love the friendship between Levi, Sebastian, Cole and Declan. They get each other and they're trying to pick each other up since they're all in the same boat. They're back home where they never expected to be and just trying to find their way.

And also let me tell you, when Harper and Levi give into their feelings and get together it is hot as hell. Levi is just uber passionate and hell you feel that passion just reading about those two in bed.

In case you're wondering, the danger for Harper grows throughout the book. Most of the time, Harper doesn't want any help from Levi. Levi is relentless in his quest to keep Harper safe. When the mystery is solved and you find out who's behind these attacks on Harper, you're not going to believe it. It's such a plot twist and so unexpected, well you have to read it yourself.

Duty Bound is an excellent summer read. Just enough suspense and angst. Levi is so sexy, I couldn't get enough of him and got kind of annoyed with Harper when she was so bitchy to him. I'm giving Duty Bound a four lip smack review. I can't wait to start Honor Bound  which is Sebastian's story.

RELEASE DAY!!! BLACK HORSE...BY ADDISON KLINE

Now Live!

Synopsis:

There is no sensation, no experience more delicious and tempting to the senses than the taste of forbidden love. The longing… The desire… The unquenched thirst for his touch. He was the man I was never supposed to love. I was supposed to hate him. I suppose part of me did and that is what made the desire so much more intense. He set a fire under my skin that burned white hot with every smoldering glance. He sets my soul ablaze, the slow burn of passion aching in every inch of my body.

Black Horse. The name haunted my dreams… But regardless of family vendettas, old hurts and contemptuous blood shed, the heart wants what it wants… and mine has a mind of its own and my mind is set on Colton McClain.

His family is known by his father’s nickname: Black Horse. Like one of the four horses flying out of the gates of hell, Tom “Black Horse” McClain ripped my world apart fifteen years ago. I was only seven when I found my mother and father dead in their beds, with Tom McClain standing over them with a blood stained butcher knife. He would have come for me, too, had my brothers not saved me. Seth, my older brother, swooped me up before I had the chance to scream and covered my mouth with his hand.

Tom McClain sought out the services of my father in a time of great need. My father, Nathan Ford, was a highly reputable criminal defense attorney, who took on Tom’s case when he was accused of murdering his wife after she was caught in bed with another man. Tom didn’t have the money to pay for my father’s services, so he took on the case pro bono because he believed in Tom’s innocence. I remember my dad meeting with Tom in his study while my mother looked after Colton, my brothers and I in the kitchen. We had become very close. My brothers once considered Colton their best friend. Not anymore.

My father got Tom off on a technicality. The prosecution had no reliable witnesses and they weren’t about to rely on the testimony of a five year old boy; Colton himself. He had witnessed the whole ordeal himself. How does Tom repay my father for his kindess and generosity? He murdered him in his sleep. He killed Daddy first. Momma screamed when she saw a man standing over her bed, and that is what woke me. In just my nightgown and socks, I tip-toed down the hall past Timmy, Randy and Seth’s bedrooms and as I entered the doorway to Momma and Daddy’s room, Tom McClain plunged a knife through my mother’s chest. My blood ran cold. I tried to scream but no sound would come out. The next thing I knew, Seth had his hand over my mouth and we hid in the hall closet. Tears streamed down my face as my arms and legs shook. I could her Tom’s boot echo against the hard wood floor of the hall.

“Sssh… Don’t say a word…” I remember Seth urging.

The air in the closet was stifling; warm and dead like a coffin. I could hear my brothers’ heavy breathing. Our dog Micah’s frantic barking from the back yard. She knew something was horribly wrong. His bootfalls were getting closer… louder… I took a deep breath and didn’t dare exhale in fear that he would hear me. Somehow, I was able to stifle my tears, but something happened that was out of my control. My thought caught from my sobbing. Tom heard it. The foot steps intensified, beating a path to the closet door. Seth, still firmly holding me, swung around so I was facing the inside of the closet. I focused on the faded floral pattern of the shelf lining that was barely visible in the dark lighting of the closet. I focused on anything but the sound of Tom McClain’s approaching footsteps. Then a loud clicking sound made it impossible. The sound of a shot gun barrel banging into place. He didn’t even bother opening the door.

Bang! Bang! Then silence.

Out of instinct I jumped into the shelf before me and cowered behind the extra blankets mother kept neatly stored on the shelf. I was stunned that I was still alive, until reality set in. Seth had slumped down against the door of the closet, unrecognizable and motionless. The shotgun blast had obliterated his once handsome face.

I am supposed to hate Colton McClain, but I can’t. When the police showed up the next day, they found Colton locked in his father’s pick-up a block away, hungry, thirsty and distraught. He was taken away by the state and put in foster care because none of his relatives wanted to have anything to do with the Black Horse name. Black Horse was caught trying to jump the border with my father’s wallet in his pocket and $10,000 in cash in a duffel bag. He traveled alone, having abandoned Colton in his truck back in Oakely. I guess his boy knew too much. When officials apprehended him, they ran my Daddy’s license and discovered that he was found murdered. Tom pleaded insanity, but after a thorough psychiatric evaluation, it was concluded that Tom McClain knew exactly what he was doing. He was sentenced to prison for twenty years, having received a lenient judge; a rarity in the State of Texas.

My surviving brothers Randy and Tim could never know about Colton and I. They’ve had it out for him for years. Bloodlines run thick around here. The sins of the fathers will forever haunt the sons, and women are to stand back and stay out of the way. Well, I have something to say about that… Fuck that, Colton McClain didn’t murder my family. His father did… and he suffered just as much as we did. Now fifteen years after the crime that screwed both of our lives up royally, Black Horse is getting out of jail. Just four days until his release. Colton wants to hide me. He said we can run… Start over somewhere else. My brothers are armed to the teeth and a war is about to break out. I have no intentions of sitting down or running away like a little girl. We cannot hide from this anymore.
Our past does not own us, and we owe it to our hearts to show the world that love can arise from the darkest of places. We only have to survive to tell the tale.

Addison is SUCH a tease! Check out these incredible teasers for Black Horse!
