Take Me With You is book 2
in the Take series by K.A. Linde. It
picks up where book 1 Take Me For Granted leaves off. Grant and Ari reunited on the beach and now 2
weeks later and things have not been resolved.
Both Ari and Grant are keeping secrets and not talking. Their sex life is the only thing that’s
working right now.
It seems like they have so
much going against them in this book.
Grant’s band is about to hit it big time, his Dad is being released,
Henry is lurking, her family looks down on Grant, and of course ever present
are the groupies.
Grant and Ari face one
challenge after the other and each time I think they handle it better than the
last. If Grant ran, Aribel chased. If Ari retreated, Grant confronted. Both of them thought things out before just
reacting. Their relationship grew and
grew and in the end, both Ari and Grant were facing their problems together
like adults. Knocking down each other’s
walls and becoming a united force to be reckoned with. I was very impressed with the emotional
growth each character showed.
One thing in particular
keeps coming to mind for me that proves my point. Grant’s band is about to leave for tour and
Aribel does not want to begrudge him his one shot at success. She loves and
encourages him to go after what he has worked so hard for; she really wants him
to be happy! Later, during the tour
Grant realizes that as much as he misses and needs Ari, he doesn’t want her to
come on the tour. He knows she is too good
to be following the band around and doing nothing with herself. He is so happy and proud that she is in the
lab doing research.
Even though Grant’s
thoughts about other women really made me mad at times, I was happy he never
even thought about betraying Ari. He
really impressed me with the changes he made in his life. He knows how much he loves Ari and he never
forgets how much she means to him.
Ari’s family continues to
push Henry on her as a suitable match. I
love how Aribel stands up to Henry and her entire family. I was blown away by the fact that she lays it
on the line to them about her love for Grant.
It’s like she gives them no choice but to accept him for her. I respected her so much for doing this!
Take Me With You is an
awesome follow up and ending to Take Me For Granted. There were so many ups and downs, but the
angst was always just enough! And let me
tell you something, Grant is H.O.T.
Damn, that boy just makes me seriously swoon. Grant is definitely a top
book boyfriend for me! 5 smoldering lip
smacks!
