Jack Daniels (I know, Jack Daniels, right?) and Sadie Slade were childhood sweethearts. There wasn’t a time they couldn’t remember being in love. When it’s time for Jack to leave for college they promise to wait for one another. Only as time goes forward Jack seems to be more concerned with earning money and status and less concerned with Sadie. It’s like he forgets the most important part of him.
It's like Jack forgets to go back for Sadie, until he see her working as a server at the wedding of a friend. Jack path finds him as an advertising exec earning six figures, while Sadie kept true to her artistic roots and is working two jobs to finish her senior project.
While Jack is super happy to see Sadie, Sadie totally dips out on Jack. Jack can’t seem to understand why Sadie is avoiding him. Around this part my heart started to feel squeezy and I wondered why Sadie wouldn’t see Jack or take his calls.
Jack, seeing Sadie realizes he wants to get to know her again. Maybe even have something with her again. But Sadie keeps ignoring Jack and he can’t understand why (neither could I).
They’re “break up” wasn’t exactly as simple as Jack thinks it was, so of course there are some parts where their families are involved and the dads back and forth definitely add some laughs to the drama.
Desperate to get back into Sadie’s life, Jack turns to social media. While Jack’s sketchy social media plan goes into effect, he decides he wants Sadie back in his life.
Suddenly, Jack starts to show up where Sadie is. Claiming he’s in San Diego for “business”.
Slowly, Sadie starts to let Jack in and their relationship begins to grow. But, Sadie is hiding a secret. A huge secret that can affect any chance of a relationship for this couple.
Jack and Sadie gripped my heart from the first pages and didn’t stop until the last. It’s such a beautiful story and Jack is just everything. Even when he does dumb things, it comes from a good place.
And before you think they don’t, Jack and Sadie do have some very sexy moments. They unleash wildness in each other and it’s incredibly HOT!!
I think Jack and Sadie has to be my favorite read so far this year. Even though I was teary eyes for most of the book, it’s a beautiful story and it will stay with me for a long time. Oh and I love Jack so much it’s ridiculous.
This is an absolute 5 star read. So go and one click it if you haven’t done it already. But leave Jack alone. He’s all mine ;).
