I’ve started this review in my head over and over again. Trying to find the right words, the right way to say Chase The Butterflies is one the best books I’ve read this year.
I’ve heard time and again how butterflies can affect the past and future, but Monica James makes this concept truly come to life In Chase The Butterflies. If you’re looking for a truly unique read and a beautiful love story look no further and one click now.
The words “will you marry me?” should evoke true joy and happiness, not turn your world upside down.
Nine months after the proposal, we find Victoria Armstrong trying to start her life over. She’s moved away from friends and family to a remote area where she doesn’t know anybody. That is until the night she meets Jude Montgomery. Tall, dark, beyond handsome with stormy blue eyes.
Although the two are strangers, they are drawn to each other and they don’t understand why. As their relationship grows, Jude becomes more and more mysterious. He gives Victoria clues about things she doesn’t understand. One thing that remains constant is their feelings for each other.
Remember not everything is as it seems and when Monica James breaks this story wide open...holy moly your jaw will drop and you will need a box of tissues.
I’m having such a book hangover from Chase The Butterflies. I replay the story of Jude and Victoria in my head over and over. It’s made me give a thought to the factor butterflies might play in our lives.
Such a magical and spiritual story from Monica James. Five high flying stars for Chase The Butterflies.

IT'S REVIEW TIME!!! SOMEDAY, SOMEDAY.....BY EMMA SCOTT
Sometimes the books you read are a guide to how you should live your life, like a road map of sorts, and I believe that Someday, Someday is just like that. Yes, the book is a romance novel and yes there is a lot of romance, but there is a flashing, strobe light in your face message that cannot and should not be ignored and that is to love unconditionally. Simple right? Everyone should do it but unfortunately that’s not the way the world works and Max and Silas are proof of that.
Max Kaufman has got to be one of the most selfless, forgiving people on the planet. His propensity to love and nurture is incomparable. Thrown away and kicked out of his house and family as a teenager just because he is gay almost destroyed Max. In fact, it damaged him so terribly it was miraculous that he was able to pull himself out of it and become a well-respected nurse. I admired Max so much for his strength and he really taught me the true meaning of forgiveness.
Silas Marsh is one of the most wounded souls I have ever read about. The atrocities that were done to him were so horrendous my heart broke for him again and again. As each memory surfaced, a piece of me was angered, saddened and forever changed. I can feel the rage I had for his father still hours later in my bones. Silas has denied himself of every basic feeling and emotion and it tore me apart. No human being should ever be punished because of his sexual orientation and shame on Edward Marsh for doing so. Silas stole my heart and I am not sure I will ever get it back, or if I want it back.
Max and Silas’ journey was as heartbreaking as it was beautiful. Silas had to fight himself and his demons every single step of the way, and Max had to fight for them both. How impossible it seems to let their past stay in the past and begin to live for the todays. On top of everything else and in the middle of a personal awakening, Silas also had to deal with a disaster that threatened his family’s legacy. But, Silas is an honorable man and as he started to come into his own as a grown man his determination to right the wrongs was fierce and unwavering. Max and Silas together were a force of nature and they both deserved to find all the happiness the world had to offer.
I have to mention the fact that Emma Scott also wrote in some seriously amazing secondary characters. Silas’ younger brother Eddie was the coolest guy and I totally loved every scene he had in this story. I also need to make note of some pretty great females; Sylvia, Ramona, Darlene, Rachel and Faith all totally rocked! What an awesome sisterhood these women were a part of!
Emma Scott captured my heart and my every emotion in this book. She has flayed me wide open and my life will forever be changed by the story of Max and Silas. Ms Scott is and has long been an immediate one click author for me, and if you haven’t read her books yet the time is now. Fall in love with Max and Silas, fall in love with Emma Scott’s beautiful writing and this spectacular story. Above all else, please always remember that love is love and it certainly does not come with conditions. Thank you Emma Scott for all the beauty and love that is uniquely you! In the words of Silas….. So there you go.

Excerpt
Eleanor had only
been in Charleston a short time when someone from Boston recognized her and
began to make her life difficult. She was no witch, but as things began to heat
up for her, she felt the only thing she could do was to pack up and head to
another town. Before leaving Charleston, she had been warned to keep her wits
about her by a fellow healer she had met on her travels throughout the
colonies. It was a dangerous world, especially in the middle of a war.
She had a few
shillings to her name that might get her a room at a boarding house for a night
or two. Hopefully by then she could find some work and begin to rebuild her
life once again. Walking along the muddied road of Ellis Square, she finally
came upon a house with a sign that read, “Accepting
boarders. Inquire inside.” She placed her bags on the ground for a moment
to peer at the sign.
Grasping her bags,
she headed toward the door of the house. As she approached, it swung open,
knocking her to the ground. Almost cursing, she held her tongue and looked
up…and her heart fell into her throat. A young man, one she guessed was close
to her age, stood before her, his hand extended to hers.
“I’m so sorry, my
lady. It never occurred to me that someone might be coming in. Are you okay? I
didn’t hurt you, did I?”
Eleanor grasped his
hand and as the light from the oil lamp hit his face she gasped, her heart
stopping. For a moment the entire world disappeared. He was most handsome and
quite appealing to her, and thoughts of a most pleasant nature crept into her
mind. Sweeping them aside, she got to her feet and attempted to brush the mud
from her dress, now soaked clear through to her undergarments.
“I can manage. Thank
you,” she said as she grabbed for her bags.
“Let me help you
with those, Mrs…”
“Mrs. Eleanor
MacAllister of County Donegal, late of Boston and Charleston. I am a healer.”
“A healer, say you?
I myself hale from County Donegal. Colm O’Donnell at your service, mistress.
And where be your husband?”
“Well, Mr.
O’Donnell, I have not yet wed. Perhaps someday.” Eleanor smiled and gathered
herself as Mr. O’Donnell led her into the inn.
“Aye
now, Mrs. O’Flannery, where be you? I have a young mistress that needs a room.”
Colm’s voice rang throughout the inn and the patrons turned their gaze toward
Eleanor and Colm.
Eleanor attempted to
hide her face, but she could feel their stares on the back of her neck and it
made the hairs stand on end. How she hated being the center of attention. All
she wanted was a room and a place to bed down. She was so very tired and so
very hungry. She had not eaten in days and it was beginning to weigh on her. As
she looked around the room, an older woman appeared at the stairwell and made
her way down the steps. Eleanor observed the weathered lines in the woman’s
face and the frailty of her gait.
“Why, Mr. O’Donnell.
Did you not just leave?” the old woman said as she passed by, patting Colm on
the shoulder.
“Aye, yes, Mrs. O’Flannery,
that I did. But I ran into Mistress MacAllister. She will be in need of a room
and will need the privy.”
Mrs. O’Flannery
walked toward Eleanor, who stood with her head still covered in her cape. “Let
me help you, my child. I will get you upstairs and Mr. O’Donnell will fetch
young Maggie to assist.
“Thank you, Mrs.
O’Flannery.” Eleanor looked around the quaint inn and found an empty chair
along the wall near the door. Colm had already returned from summoning the
young maid and pulled the chair out for her.
“Maggie won’t be
long. So, Mistress Eleanor, what brings you to Savannah?”
Eleanor paused for a
moment; this was the one question she was hoping to avoid although she had
already concocted a story. “Well now, Mr. O’Donnell, that is a most interesting
story and one I fear should be made once I have a clearer head about me.”
“Ah, yes. I am quite
sure you are exhausted from your travels. Perhaps tomorrow we may sit and
talk,” Colm replied.
“Aye, yes, perhaps.”
“MacAllister, you
say? Seems to me my father knew some MacAllisters. What part of County Donegal
did you say you hailed from?”
“I didn’t,” Eleanor
replied with a flirtatious grin. “Perhaps we will discuss that tomorrow.” It
was then that a young woman scampered down the stairs, almost shaking the very
foundation of the inn. Eleanor surmised she was not more than her own age of
eighteen.
“Must you make a
ruckus every time you come downstairs, Maggie?” Mrs. O’Flannery protested.
“No, Mistress. I
will try to remember to be more courteous.”
“You would do well
to remember that, my dear. Now hurry and help Mistress Eleanor, and Mr.
O’Donnell will be up with her bags. Get her a warm bath and help her prepare
for bed. Take her to the room next to mine.”

I might as well permanently add the label "Ex" to my name. I'm
an Ex-Mr. Universe. Ex-Mr. Olympus. An Ex-Hollywood Stuntman. But no one from
my small hometown cares anything about that. They only care that I'm the
ex-boyfriend to the beloved Mayor's daughter, Elaina Dyker.
And now, ten years later, I'm back, helping my siblings run my mother's
bakery while she takes on chemo. What should have been a routine cupcake
delivery turns into utter chaos when the bachelorette party thinks I'm a
stripper. And what's worse? Elaina is the maid of honor.
But the meme about us sure went viral fast. My small hometown has become
positively infested with tipsy bridesmaids looking for my erotic cupcakes.
Now Hollywood's knocking again--and this time they want me and my ex, Mr.
Beefcake, and Ms. Prude, to star in a reality show.
It could solve all my problems—except her.
I love coffee.
As an author and a story-teller, it is the lifeblood to which my ideas
take flight. And I believe in giving credit where credit is due. Occasionally
someone (ie – my husband) will try to secretly switch out my beloved regular
coffee for decaf. I always know the difference. ALWAYS (I’m looking at you,
SEAN).
I am incapable of achieving the perfect ponytail. I’m dyslexic. I can
never wear white without spilling on myself. And I’ve never read Pride and
Prejudice (gasp!).
When I was younger and stole my mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the
covers with a flashlight (seriously, did we ALL do this? I think we did.), I
wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl
with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but
“Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse… give me the bad boy on a
motorcycle.
So, now, I write those romance novels I craved to see on the shelves all
those years ago—the sassy heroines. The badass heroes. I spend my days in the
throes of my imagination and am loving every minute of it. I can travel
anywhere and become anyone I want to be. One day, I’m a mechanic in Boston and
the next, I’m a vampire stripping in Las Vegas.
Since penning my first novel back in 2012, I’m now an international
author with 15 published books, in a wide range of contemporary romance
genres–(Paranormal, New Adult, Small town, Erotic Suspense… you name it!).
After living for a decade in Brooklyn, NY, I took the plunge and moved to
beautiful (although kinda chilly) Portland, Maine. I now live full time in
‘Vacationland’ with a kind of mean cat, a mellow chihuahua, and a very NOT
mellow lab-pittie mix. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband who draws comics somewhere
in that mix, too.
I can usually be found in a coffee shop with my nose in my laptop wearing
fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.
I love connecting with readers and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel
free to drop me an email at katana.collins@gmail.com or connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@katanacollins). You can find a list of my
available books over on my Bookshelf or if you’ve already
read a book, it would make my day if you wrote a review!

SHANE MILLER SLEEP DIARY:
Went to
bed at: Late.
How long
it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.
Number
of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to
quit!
My stress level is off the charts.
I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with
the best kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three
months,
so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of
my life—
impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.
My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best
friend’s sister.
If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous
troublemaker of a sister,
he would smother me with a pillow.
The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that
little indie movie
that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.
Before writing steamy romantic comedy novels, Kayley Loring
got a BFA in creative writing from a Canadian university and had a fifteen-year
career as a screenwriter in Los Angeles (under a different name). She mostly
wrote PG-13 family comedies that studios would pay her lots of money for and
then never make into movies. In 2017 she decided to move to the Pacific
Northwest and write about all the fun stuff that she wasn't allowed to write
about in those PG-13 scripts. Now she’s breathing cleaner air and writing
dirtier words. It’s an adjustment she’s happily getting used to.
