Be With Me by Jennifer L. Arrmentrout writing as J. Lynn

"And I'm more than willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to you, because I love you Tess, I am so fucking in love with you in a way I've never loved someone before. Please let me prove that to you. Please Tess." Jase Winstead

I think the only way for me to start off this review is by saying......WOW!! I have been a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout for a while now. I was really into her Covenant series. A series of books with a kind of  mythological twist to them. And yes she did give us a good book boyfriend in Aiden St. Delphi. I also loved Wait for You. Cam Hamilton another swoon worthy book boyfriend. Then I got the five chapter teaser and cover reveal for Be With Me and I thought, damn this looks good.  I NEED it to be released.

Three things I learned from Friday when I started reading until today when I sat down to write this. One, I am obsessed with Jase Winstead, and I mean obsessed to the nth power, two, Teresa "Tess"Hamilton is a total bad ass and three, I am in love with Jennifer L. Armentrout.

On Friday night I went to bed with Jase on my brain. I woke up and he was still there. Yes, I usually find a book boyfriend in most of the books I read, but not like Jase. He is perfection with a capital P. The description of his physical appearance gave me chill bumps. From his russet colored mop of curly hair, to his toned and tattooed body I was hooked. Here's an excellent description from Tess......."ovaries go boom." and that's exactly what mine did!

Jase is Tess' brother Cam's best friend.  They're in college together and Jase has seen Cam through some really rough times. You can read more about Cam and his girlfriend Avery in Wait for You. But right now it's Jase and Tess' turn. These two have known each other for a while. Of course Tess has harbored a crush on the oh so yummy Jase from day one. She thinks he might have feelings for her too since they shared a devastatingly hot kiss one night during her senior year in high school. Tess has never forgotten that kiss. And apparently neither has Jase.

Fast forward to a year in the future. Over protective big brother Cam is bringing Tess to college and stops at Jase's farm on the way. College is something that was never on Tess' radar. She's a dancer and was planning on going to the Joffrey School of Ballet where she had a full scholarship, until she blew out her ACL. Now she's on her way to university until she can get back to dancing. Did I mention big brother and Jase both go to the college Tess is attending? Hmmmmm...interesting.

Tess knows how she feels about Jase, but he tries to make it clear the kiss they shared was a drunken one that can never happen again and he ever so kindly puts Tess in the "friend zone."

That friend zone doesn't last long when one night after actually drinking he shows up at Tess' dorm and says he needs to talk to her. Jase comes to apologize for friend zoning Tess and winds up spending the night on the sofa in Tess' suite. Not only does he tell Tess how beautiful and desirable he thinks she is, he brings her a delicious cupcake. If only I had a friend like that. So anyway, at this point you know Jase has some serious feelings for Tess.

Try as he might, Jase can't stay away from Tess. They have class together 3 times a week, they always seem to wind up together, and of course Jase is always saying, "we're friends right?" (I would most definitely want a friend like Jase.) Eventually, they decide they can't stay away from each other and make the decision to be boyfriend and girlfriend. The only thing they don't get around to is telling Cam that they're together. Never fear, big brother walks in on them in a sort of compromising situation. Luckily the beautiful Jase only gets punched one time and big brother kind of lets it go when little sister blurts out that she loves Jase (swoon).

There are some plot twists that I won't share because, well, I want you to read the book. There is suspense and a few bumps along the way. The subplots are definitely relevant and only add to the story. I can't say enough good things about this book.  Really it's a must read!

Wait, I thought of one more thing. One day in my life I NEED to kiss someone that can kiss like Jase. Ms. Armentrout gave this book boyfriend some mad skills and ladies just once in our lives, we should all be kissed by someone like Jase Winstead.

A total of 5 lipstick kisses for Be With Me.

Read it and let me know how much you love it.  Also let me know if you have anyone with the kissing skills of Jase!

Faking It by Cora Carmack

Despite how much he scared me, I felt comfortable with him.  It was complicated. Looking at him, I know this wasn't the kind of fear that sent you running for the hills. It was the kind of fear that made people jump off cliffs and climb mountains - the kind of fear that told you something miraculous was waiting at the end of it, if you could only get there.

And Lord after I read Losing It, I knew I needed to get there!

In the spirit of President's Day, I cannot tell a lie. I was not a fan of Cade Winston in Losing It. And it actually took me a minute to give him a chance in Faking It. I thought he was kind of "Boo hoo, Bliss doesn't love me." Thank goodness I gave the boy a chance, because holy hell....Cade Winston is an amazing book boyfriend.

When Mackenzie "Max" Miller a local musician who loves music more than anything sees Cade at a local coffee shop, she doesn't think about giving him a chance either. He's too much of a good boy for her. According to Max the kind of guy that would never even look at her. Not only is he a good boy, but Max is a bad girl. I mean not really bad....kind of a tatted up rocker chick who changes her hair color as often as she changes her undies. Did I mention this is a something she hides from her family?

Cade is a grad student in Philadelphia. He's an actor and a truly good guy. Not to mention a guy that just had his heart stomped on by his best female friend.

But fate (and Cora Carmack) have thrown these two opposites in each others paths for a reason. Max's very proper parents are in town and Max is at the coffee shop with her very unparent friendly boyfriend Mace. Not only are her parents in town, but they are about five minutes away from the coffee shop and running into their daughter and her tatted up, pierced boyfriend.

What's a girl to do? Well thank goodness Max is resourceful. After expertly ditching her boyfriend Mace, she asks an unsuspecting Cade Winston to be her fake boyfriend. And lucky for all parties involved, Cade says yes.  Not only does he say yes, but he makes such a good impression on her parents, they invite him to Thanksgiving dinner. Weirdly enough this doesn't make Max happy and she kind of smacks our boy Cade.

It doesn't take long to see that there's an attraction between Max and Cade. The kiss Cade  gives Max after she implies he's gay made my girlie parts tingle.  Hell I saw stars so I can't imagine how Max felt. They run into each other again that night. First at the bar where Max's band played and then after Max has a run in with an idiot. That night Cade takes care of Max and when Cade touches her, Max knows she's in trouble. So what does she do?  She denies the feelings she's developing for Cade and tries to push him away.

Here's the thing. Of course Cade is catching feelings for Max too, but he's just been through this whole romantic mess with his best friend Bliss (Sorry, you'll have to read Losing It, I'm not giving anything away) and he's not ready to put his heart out there only to be crushed again.

Everyone from Max's parents to Cade's friend Milo see the sparks flying between Max and Cade. Unfortunately, the both of them keep pushing their feelings away. Cade for the obvious reason, and Max for something deeper and sadder. Max carries a painful secret that has to do with her sister Alexandria. She keeps it hidden and pretends to be something she's not.

Their relationship starts out so unconventionally some of the things they do will just make you laugh. I especially love the nicknames they give each other. He calls her "Angry Girl" and she calls him "Golden Boy". Come on....how is this not a match made in heaven?

Inevitably, Max and Cade give into their attraction and let me tell you Cade Winston can back me into a wall any day. The sex is totally hot. The kind you need to read a couple of times and you're still like, damn. After their amazing night, Max flakes out. She runs, and Cade is alone again. These two just can't seem to sort out their feelings for each other. So they do exactly what they shouldn't do. They ignore each other even though they really don't want to.

Did I mention that Thanksgiving dinner with Mackenzie's parents went so well, they invited Cade back home for Christmas? After everything these two have been through in a short time Max gives Cade the opportunity to back out of the Christmas trip. Mostly because well they're not speaking to each other and she figures it'll be best if she just tells her mom and dad that she and Cade broke up. Guess what? Cade being Cade tells Max he'll honor his promise and go home with her. But, he has a few conditions....

Does Cade go home with Max? Do they ever actually get together? I'm not telling.  Read it!!! It's a really good book, with a totally swoon worthy book boyfriend. Honestly, for some reason I can not get Cade Winston out of my head. And I don't think I really want to ;)

A five lip print review for Golden Boy and Faking It. Thank you Cora Carmack!! Now go read it and just remember Cade is mine!! Enjoy my girlies!!!

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

"Then he kissed me on my front steps, a kiss so sweet and gentle that my heart ached and I could feel his soft lips on my own long after he walked away and turned the corner out of sight."

How could you look at this cover and not want to read it? Damn this man is fine!

You may have heard me mention my book partner in crime Darien. She is my go to girl when I need advice on what to read. So when she told me I HAD to read Archer's Voice how could I resist?

After I read it and we swooned over Archer Hale, I said "Girl you should do the review for this one." So my reading friends here's the review my best book friend wrote for Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan.

Harper's Voice is the fourth book in Mia Sheridan's A Sign of Love series, but it is also a stand alone. Reading so many books, it is easy to forget small and sometimes very large details in them. And then there are certain books whose details, characters and words stick with us long after we have finished them. Archer's Voice is one of them. I believe this book will stay with me for a very long time; in fact it is one of the most pure heartfelt books I have ever read!

Bree Prescott is a woman literally running away from the pain of her past. That pain has landed her in a place that brought her happiness as a child, the small town of Pelion, Maine.

Archer Hale has lived in Pelion his whole life. Yet no one in this small town has had any contact with him since he was a young boy. In the eyes of the townspeople, Archer Hale is deaf, slow and just plain weird.  Hiding behind long hair and a beard, he is the town outcast. Living with his own painful past and a huge secret, Archer has become used to living this sad and lonely existence.

Bree isn't in town long before she encounters Archer and feels an immediate connection to him. She sees his beauty through the long hair, unkempt beard and raggy clothes. After asking around, she discovers Archer lives near the beach and what people assume about him. On her way home from the beach one day, Bree's dog Phoebe runs through the fence onto Archer's property. Bree comes face to face with Archer once again. This time she is aware he doesn't speak, so Bree whose father was deaf, speaks to him in sign language.  Archer then shows Bree he knows sign language as well by signing back to her. Bree learns Archer is not deaf, slow or weird, he has been completely isolated from human contact for many years, so he is socially awkward, innocent and shy.

Their friendship begins from there and an attraction grows between them as well. Bree gets Archer to allow her to cut his hair. When Bree leans in closely, mesmerized by Archer's whiskey colored eyes, she is surprised when Archer abruptly asks her to leave, instead of giving her the kiss she was expecting. You can sense their attraction and wonder why he sent her away. And thankfully, Mia Sheridan lets us know the reason and if it doesn't break your heart just a little, I don't know what will. The following night, Archer gives Bree that kiss, his first kiss and Bree learns just how isolated and innocent Archer has been. Fortunately,

Archer is a quick study and as time goes on their sexual relationship ship grows. And holy hell, for someone who has been devoid of human contact for most of his life, the man does acquire some serious skills. During this time Bree and Archer begin to fall in love.

Add to the mix a jealous, misguided cousin and a cruel aunt that could rival any book villain and you understand more about Archer's tragic life. You also get the sense there's more to this story. Archer's cousin Travis saw Bree first and decided he wanted her (Hmmmmm history repeating itself?) You get the feeling from the start that Travis is kind of sleazy, and well that feeling is correct. Then you meet his mom Victoria Hale and she is beyond awful. These two would like nothing more than for Archer to keep living life as a recluse, but Bree Prescott has other plans for her man.

Pretending to want to make amends for the way he's treated Archer over the years, cousin Travis takes Archer for a boys night out. Of course the boys night out is to a stripper bar and you can probably guess what happens (Or read the book, because I'm not telling). A misunderstanding that night leaves Bree devastated and Archer alone once again. Archer realizes after having Bree in his life, he would be destroyed to go back to being alone again. Thank goodness Archer and Bree make up and the two friends become lovers. During this time, as much as you want them to be happy, Bree senses Archer pulling away from her but doesn't understand why.

Another hateful visit from cousin Travis gives us some insight to why Archer is having second thoughts of a life with Bree. Archer wonders how he will provide for her and if his lack of interaction with the outside world will will make her resentful and unhappy. Without telling anyone Archer leaves town with Bree wondering why. Bree, completely in love with Archer, decides to wait for him, no matter how long he is gone.

Throughout the chapters we learn the details of Archer's life. How he came to be the weird, deaf guy who didn't speak. Also through a series of flashbacks we learn Bree's big secret and why she ran away from her life in Ohio.

Many secrets are uncovered and danger comes looking for Bree. Will Archer and Bree find their way back to each other? Will they survive the ghosts from their pasts? Can they get past the jealousy and hate from Archer's so called family? Does the final plot twist make or break Archer and Bree? Now you know I won't tell you, I want you to read it for yourself!!

Archer's Voice is one of those books that does not come around very often. It moved me in so many ways; I just felt so much love coming off every page. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry and even piss you off, but in the end, your heart will have grown a little because you read it!

A five lipstick print review from this reader!!! 💋💋💋💋💋
